Chaldean Community Foundation 2017 Strategic Priorities:

Refugee Acculturation

Ease the major issues impacting today’s immigrant population including transportation, housing, job placement, language development, behavioral health, immigration, social and government program directives, and basic necessities. The goal is to help this population acculturate and become less dependent on government subsidies and programs.

Global Collaboration

Provide civic, social and welfare advocacy related to matters of public policy and political purpose for the common benefit of Chaldean Syriac Assyrian people in both diaspora and in their indigenous lands in the Middle East. The goal is to create a safe place where Iraqi and Syrian minorities can live and worship in peace in their ancestral land.

Finalize Capital Campaign Fundraising

Identify and solicit additional financial contributions by establishing relationships with key foundations, corporations, community leaders and individuals. Utilize and expand current outreach platforms that will petition potential donor interest and support to reach $5 million goal.

Serve More than 20,000 Clients in 2017 through our Acculturation Programs

Increase clientele base through capabilities of new innovative facility, enhancement of current services, aggressive community outreach and creation/expansion of innovative acculturation programs.

Identify development of a Long-term Housing Project

Initiate long-term housing solutions for our growing New Americans.

Finalize the Production of a Chaldean Language Tutorial

Launch an online tutorial learning platform for Aramaic.

Update Household Survey

Update the landmark Household Study to better reflect the growth of the Chaldean community through a partnership with the College of Business at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Center for Innovation Research.  The survey will be a research project that will help to estimate the size of the Chaldean community in Southeast Michigan and provide demographics of the community (household membership, employment, education levels, household income, business ownership rate and types).  The survey report card will serve as the roadmap to highlight the key areas of economic activity and cultural adaptation and acculturation.
