OUR MISSION

Improving the stability, health and wellness of those we serve through advocacy, acculturation, community development and cultural preservation.

Since our founding in 2006 as the nonprofit arm of the Michigan-based Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce, the Chaldean Community Foundation has been rooted in our Chaldean cultural heritage.

With a continued effort and dedication to advancing the social, cultural heritage and charity work in the local Chaldean community, we are focused on the social, health and community-based inequities of the newcomers, ethnic and non-English-speaking immigrant groups, and the local economically disadvantaged. The CCF works to empower the vulnerable by helping develop the language and life skills, cultural competency, and workplace training needed for self-sufficiency, acculturation, inclusion, and life-long success.

FOUNDATION HISTORY

2011

In 2011 the Chaldean Community Foundation took on a transformational role in its mission and vision as a full-service human and social service agency to meet the demands of New Americans into the State of Michigan. With projections to serve 400 people per year – 4,000 individuals were provided with services. The 1,500 square-foot facility served as a haven to provide human, health, social and community services assisting the new refugee arrivals, ethnic immigrant communities and the low-income and disadvantaged populations. By 2014 the number of people served surged to 16,000.

2015

On November 13, 2015, the doors of our own 11,500 sq. ft. community center in Sterling Heights welcomed clients from Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties. As the number of people served continued to increase and 2019 brought more than 32,000 people seeking assistance with advocacy and assimilation essentials including health care, career, immigration services and array of community-based assistance programs.

2020

On July 31, 2020, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held for our new 19,000 sq. foot expansion which includes a gymnasium for recreational activities, additional classrooms, a primary care clinic, a mental health clinic, and a life skills center for those with special needs which includes a barbershop, bank, and miniature market. During 2020, 43,000 individuals were provided services.

2021

Towards the end of 2021, CCF broke ground on the Van Dyke Housing Project, an attainable housing development that has been in the planning stage for many years. Van Dyke Housing will serve as a mixed-use space including 135 attainable apartments, and 9,000 square feet of retail space. Information regarding the Van Dyke Housing Development is forthcoming with updated information as it becomes available. CCF served nearly 50,000 individuals.

2023

The Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce and the Chaldean Community Foundation announced the acquisition of property at 2075 Walnut Lake Road in West Bloomfield for a new Chaldean Community Center.
