Launched February 18, 2015, the Hard of Hearing, ESL, American Sign Language, Life Skills (H.E.A.L) Project was created to help better equip members of the community with hearing impairments to live independent lives.
Instructed by Phyllis Harbaugh from “Missionary to the Deaf”, H.E.A.L Project runs a 10 week American Sign Language Course for the deaf community and their families. During this course, students receive a one hour instruction learning basics and letters of American Sign Language and a second hour participating in group discussions incorporating life skills.
H.E.A.L Bible Study will be held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Full schedule will be finalized at the first day of class.
ASL Interpretation Masses are held at St. Joseph Chaldean Catholic Church on the second Sunday of every month at 10:30A.M.
