The Chaldean Community Foundation held its inaugural awards dinner on Thursday November 01, 2018 at the Palazzo Grande banquet center, hosting 600 individuals at an event focused on community service and philanthropy. Guests included Macomb County Executive Mark Hackle, City of Warren Mayor Jim Fouts, City of Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor, Michigan Supreme Court Justice David F. Viviano, Representative Peter Lucido, and Representative Steve Bieda, Iraqi Consulate Adnan Almaajoon, and representatives from The Sterling Heights Police Department, Michigan Air Force Association, and the Chaldean Catholic Parishes of Michigan.

The Foundation presented Marianna Kattula with a Community Service Award for consistently demonstrating qualities of compassion and service, and Jason Najor with a Philanthropist of the Year Award for setting a standard of excellence in charitable giving. Continuing with the philanthropic theme, Kevin Denha, Saber Ammori and Mark Denha, along with Wireless Vision generously contributed $200,000, giving them the naming rights to the multipurpose room that will be part of the 2019 expansion of CCF’s current building. Level One Bank also contributed to CCF’s capital campaign, donating $150,000, giving Level One the naming rights to the Life Skills Center that will also be part of the 2019 expansion.

Thanks to the generosity of Patrick Tomina and w3r Consulting, the Foundation also awarded two $5,000 scholarships to Yousif Yousif and Tammam Noori. Yousif is a junior and Tammam is a Senior at Oakland University, both working towards their degree in Biological Sciences. w3r Consulting has pledged to provide $50,000 in scholarship support to the Chaldean Community Foundation.
