Chaldean Community Foundation Annual Academic Scholarship Program

The 2026 Academic Scholarship Program application is now open!

 

The application deadline is on July 6th, 2026.

 

PURPOSE

The purpose of this annual program is to help Chaldean students achieve their academic goals and support their efforts at higher education.

 

FOCUS

The program allows philanthropic efforts to make a greater impact, providing funds for tuition, paid directly to the schools so that Chaldean scholars may seek different vocational pursuits.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Open to Chaldean students and learners.

  • Must be a Michigan resident.

  • Status: Must maintain U.S legal status as an immigrant, refugee, asylee, permanent resident or U.S. Citizen.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who are not past recipients.

  • Scholarship money is intended to help subsidize financial burden of education-related cost and will be paid directly to the student’s institution.

  • Student must be enrolled concurrently in the same accredited program for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters.

 

LAWRENCE TECH SCHOLARSHIP

Lawrence Technological University is partnering with the Chaldean Community Foundation to provide scholarships to Chaldean high school students, offering a stand-alone scholarship to incoming freshman up to $18,000.00.

w3r Consulting S.T.E.M. Scholarship

w3r Consulting provides scholarships for candidates pursuing S.T.E.M. degrees, focused on the IT/Computer fields of study.

Focused on:

  • GPA requirement of 3.0 or greater at a two-or four-year accredited Michigan College, University, or Community College.
  • Michigan-based Chaldean undergraduate (sophomores, juniors & seniors) students.
  • Must maintain for a full-time student status (12 credit hours or more).
  • Attending a four-year undergraduate accredited Michigan University, College or Community College Degree focus in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M).

Drs. Nathima and Peter Atchoo Family Foundation Scholarship

The Drs. Nathima and Peter Atchoo Family Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance to Chaldean students pursuing higher education, including community college, university, and graduate studies in preparation for a career in the field of their choice.

Focused on:

  • The scholarship is open to any Chaldean undergraduate and graduate resident student at any four-year institution or community college.

Yvonne Nona Memorial Scholarship

The Yvonne Nona Memorial Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to Chaldean women pursuing higher education, including community college and university studies in preparation for a career in the field of their choice. The Yvonne Nona Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established in memory of the late Yvonne E. Nona.

Focused on:

    • Female Chaldean students and learners.
    • Sophomore-level students and above.
    • Geographic institution: Open to undergraduate or trade school students in any Michigan school.

Abdul Karim and Jameela Sesi Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established in memory of Abdul Karim and Jameela Sesi, providing financial assistance to anyone pursuing education beyond high school in preparation for a career in the field of their choice.

Karim and Bernadette Sarafa General Scholarship

The Karim and Bernadette Sarafa General Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to Chaldean undergraduate students pursuing education beyond high school.

Offers a minimum of $2,500 scholarship(s) for candidates.

DA Advisory Group Scholarship

The DA Advisory Group Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to Chaldean undergraduate students (sophomores, juniors, or seniors only) pursuing a degree in the field of accounting.

Focused on:

  • Students pursuing Accounting degrees.
  • GPA requirement of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be an undergraduate (sophomore, junior, senior) student.

Derek Dickow Scholarship

Offers scholarship (s) for candidate pursuing a degree in the field of their choice at Oakland University.

Focused on:

  • Must maintain a full-time student status (12+ credit hours)
  • Must be an undergraduate student at Oakland University.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Recipients of the scholarship shall join Oakland University Chaldean American Student Association (CASA)

Hana Manna Scholarship Fund

The Hana Manna Scholarship Fund provides one (1) $2,500 scholarship to Chaldean undergraduate students pursuing degrees in education to help them achieve their academic and professional goals in the field. The Hana Manna Scholarship has been established in memory of the late Hana Manna.

In addition to the scholarship program requirements, general qualifications and terms covering the granting of the Hana Manna Scholarship Fund are:
* Must maintain a full-time student status (12 credit hours).
* Open to Chaldean undergraduate students at any Michigan four-year institution or community college, with a degree focused on education.

Jacob Bacall Scholarship

The Jacob Bacall Scholarship Fund provides four (4) $2,500 scholarships to Michigan-based undergraduate (sophomores, juniors, seniors) students with a GPA requirement of 3.0 or greater pursuing an education in the field of their choice.
In addition to the scholarship program requirements, general qualifications and terms covering the granting of the Jacob Bacall Scholarship Fund are:
* Must maintain a full-time student status (12 credit hours).
* Open to Chaldean undergraduate students at any Michigan four-year institution, community college, or trade-skill certification program.

Huntington Bank Scholarship Fund

The Huntington Bank Scholarship Fund provides five (5) $10,000 scholarships to recently graduated Michigan high school seniors (Class of 2026) pursuing college or trade school with a 2.25-3.4 GPA. This scholarship recognizes achievements beyond academics, celebrating students who demonstrate leadership, community service, and a commitment to making a difference.

In addition to the scholarship program requirements, general qualifications and terms covering the granting of the Huntington Bank Scholarship Fund are:

  • Demonstrate achievements beyond academics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire others in school, employment, family, or community settings.
  • Proven dedication to giving back to the community through volunteerism, community service, and extracurricular activities.
  • Scholarship can be used towards tuition, room and board, and education related costs.
