VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Age: 18 years of age. Individuals under the age of 18 will be contacted by a member of our team to complete a Parental Consent form.

Minimum Commitment: Volunteers must commit to one event. However, the number of hours may vary depending upon the needs of the organization and must be approved by a manager.

Interviews: Background checks are conducted for each volunteer. Upon successful completion, the volunteer must complete a phone screen interview with a department manager or member of the Human Resources Department. Volunteers are reviewed and considered based on assessed skills, interests, level of demonstrated commitment and the availability of volunteer positions.

Orientation and Training: After the screening interview and background checks have been completed, the prospective volunteer is required to attend a mandatory orientation. The orientation provides a general overview of the volunteer program, including safety expectations and organizational policies. Volunteers must receive appropriate training from a department manager or designated staff member to ensure they are prepared to carry out their assigned duties effectively. Training is divided into two areas: basic workplace instruction (e.g., building tour) and job instruction.

Attendance: Volunteers are expected to fulfill their volunteer hours. All volunteers are required to perform their committed tasks and make every effort to be punctual. The department manager must be notified immediately of (un)scheduled absence(s). After 3 consecutive unexcused absences without notification, the manager reserves the right to terminate. All volunteers must sign in and out when reporting for service. Failure to do so and illegible handwriting will result in service hours not being recorded. Time can be recorded on a volunteer hours log or sign-in sheet and submitted to the Human Resources Department.

Dress Code: Volunteers must dress professionally and appropriately relative to their specific duties and responsibilities. General business or business casual attire is acceptable. The following are not acceptable attire: leggings, shorts, miniskirts, dresses above the knee, tank tops, and halter tops. This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Shoes should be appropriate for a business environment.

Evaluation: All volunteers are expected to have a clear understanding of their assigned tasks. Each volunteer will be equally appreciated, respected, and valued. The work they perform will be treated with dignity and respect, reflecting the commitment they bring to delivering quality results.

Safety: Volunteers must comply with all safety and health requirements set forth by the agency’s management and in strict accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. The Chaldean Community Foundation maintains a workplace free of violence and strictly prohibits all possession or use of dangerous weapons on Chaldean Community Foundation property.

I certify that all information is true and has been given voluntarily.

I understand that I must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer at the Chaldean Community Foundation and if applicable, may need parental consent.

I understand that I will receive no monetary benefits in return for my volunteer service and that the Chaldean Community Foundation may terminate this agreement at any time without prior notice for any reason.

Upon being offered a volunteer position, I understand that I may be required to provide additional information pertinent to the position for which I applied.

All volunteers are subject to background checks upon initial acceptance. All volunteers will be required to attend a volunteer screening interview and orientation.

I give my consent to the Chaldean Community Foundation to use my name, photographs, and/or video recordings in any Chaldean Community Foundation publications, TV/radio ads, websites and social media platforms, with no compensation.

The Chaldean Community Foundation is a community-based organization dedicated to improving the stability, health, and wellness of those we serve through advocacy, acculturation, community development, and cultural preservation. Any violation of the Volunteer Code of Conduct will be subject to discipline and possible dismissal from the program.

A Volunteer Must:
• Strictly follow any agency policy or procedure.
• Cooperate with a manager.
• Obey all applicable local, state, and federal laws while acting on behalf of the Chaldean Community Foundation.
• Notify management if you have acquired or have been exposed to any harmful disease or contagious virus.
• Treat all staff members, clients, and other volunteers with respect, courtesy, and dignity.
• Act honestly and ethically while in the performance of their volunteer duties.
• Abide by the volunteer dress code.

A Volunteer Must Not:
• Use abusive language, discourtesy or rudeness towards staff members, clients, and other volunteers.
• Possess or use alcoholic beverages, legal or illegal drugs on Chaldean Community Foundation's property, other property that events are held, or report to the program while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Bring onto Chaldean Community Foundation’s property or other property that events are held, dangerous or unauthorized materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons, or any other similar items.
• Use verbal, physical, or visual harassment of staff members, clients, and other volunteers.
• Use actual or threatened violence towards any individual, group, staff members, clients, and other volunteers.
• Endanger the life, safety, health, or well-being of others.
• Bully any individual, group, staff members, clients, and other volunteers.

Prohibited Activities include, but are not necessarily limited to:
• Cannot offer or provide transportation to any client(s) in your personal vehicle.
• Cannot offer or give cash or cash equivalents to any client(s).
• Cannot receive or take gifts from a client.
• Cannot offer additional services outside the scope of work performed at the agency.

I agree to abide by the rules described above and understand that I may be removed from my volunteer assignments if I violate any of these rules.
